How can we stop trafficking?

Updated: Oct 11, 2021

Season 1 Episode 6: How to build resilience factors to prevent child trafficking w/ Dr. Hartini Zainundin

In 2018 about 50,000 human trafficking victims were reported which is likely to be much higher given the hidden nature of this crime.

Particularly, the most vulnerable, the children are affected. The share of small individuals has tripled with girls being the most affected group.

Child trafficking is child abuse. It's defined as recruiting, moving, receiving, and harboring children for the purpose of exploitation. In this episode, I speak with Dr. Hartini Zainundin - child activist, consultant for UN organizations and co founder of Yayasan Chow Kit (formerly known as NurSalam).

Hartini shares her path and passion to becoming a child activist while living in NYC and walks us through the biggest problems that NGOs, social organisations and activists face trying to combat child trafficking.

I hope you find this episode insightful and encouraging to protect the smallest of our societal members.
